Every year, when our Summer Reading programs have finished, we have programs and parties to celebrate Summer Read.    This year, the Adult/Teen Summer Read party will be on Friday, August 3rd from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.   There will be a special presentation, plenty of food and fun, and we’ll also be announcing the winners of our 4 raffle prizes.   We’ll also have a special door prize for party attendees, which will include a Nook Simple Touch, and some other goodies.   Winners of the raffle prizes do not need to be present at the party to win, but for the special door prize, winners must be present.
We are happy to announce that there will be a presentation by Kerry Keller, Director of the Bolingbrook School of Metaphysics.  He’s going to talk about dreams, and dream interpretation, and how our perception of dreams can be significant in our lives.
So please mark your calendars and join us for this great presentation, and for our Summer Read party on August 3rd!

Summer Read runs until July 27th, so there is still plenty of time to register (if you haven’t already), and log what you’ve been reading this summer.  If you log 3 books, you get a nice black & purple ceramic mug — and each book you log counts as a virtual raffle ticket.   We’ll have 4 big raffle prizes to award at the end of Summer Read, and each will include an iPod shuffle, books, audiobooks, DVDs, and more!!

We would like to invite you and your family to participate in our Library’s 2012 Summer Reading programs.

Throughout June and July, there will be plenty of fun for all ages, with special Summer Reading Programs designed especially for Babies, Kids, Teens and Adults.  For our younger readers (and listeners), participants receive fun prizes for completing the program, including a book of their choice to keep.  Teens have their choice of two programs, or may register for both the Teen program and the Adult program.

For Adults, our Between the Covers program will offer some great raffle prizes, including books, DVDs, gift certificates, and more.  Read or listen to the minimum of three books and receive a dreamy, ceramic Library mug.  Log more than three books and increase your chances to win one of our raffle prizes at our Summer Read Party!

On Friday, August 3rd, our Adult Summer Read Party will be celebrated with fun, food, and prizes, including a special door prize.

Signup begins on Saturday, June 2nd at our slumber party-themed kickoff party, but you may sign up and participate at any time from June 2nd through Friday, July 27th.   We will have a special giveaway for patrons who sign up for the Adult/Teen program at the kickoff party, as well as a special raffle prize on that date.

You Belong at Your Library!   Our library is celebrating National Library Week this coming weekend — starting with a all-ages concert on Friday, April 13th at 6:00 p.m.

Come listen to the Old Town School of Folk Music’s own Laura Doherty in concert, enjoy some games and take a crazy picture that tells the world why you belong at your library!

On Saturday, April 14th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, we’ll have an open house in our meeting rooms, showcasing some of the local groups that meet here at the library.   It’s a great opportunity to see the variety of different groups, and also learn about what Adult Services and Youth Services have for our patrons, as well.

For more information, please visit our home page at http://www.lislelibrary.org, or visit us on Facebook!
